Supernova Design Studio is proud to announce its victory at the 2025 International Superyacht Society Design & Leadership Awards, winning in the “Best Refit” category with the exceptional M/Y Solafide.
The project was recognized by the judges for its seamless blend of classic charm and contemporary sophistication, honoring the yacht’s heritage while elevating its design to new standards of luxury and functionality.

During the ceremony, Giulia Grassi, Founder of Supernova Design Studio, expressed her gratitude with heartfelt words.
She said that it was an honor and a pleasure to receive the award and took the opportunity to thank everyone involved in the project, as well as the owner.
She concluded by celebrating the collective achievement with enthusiasm: “We did it!”

Originally built in 1994, M/Y Solafide underwent an extensive refit that harmoniously bridges the past and the present.
Key upgrades include a panoramic main deck dining area, a new VIP cabin, and an adaptable upper deck lounge, alongside refined interior lines designed to create versatile and elegant spaces.

The refit establishes a harmonious connection between interior and exterior, enhancing natural light, maximizing sea views, and redefining onboard comfort through sophisticated materials and balanced proportions.

The judges praised the refit as “a great renovation”, highlighting its balanced elegance, contemporary allure, and luxurious feel, which perfectly respect the yacht’s original spirit while bringing it into a new era.

This recognition marks an important milestone for Supernova Design Studio, reaffirming its commitment to excellence, creativity, and craftsmanship — values that continue to define its distinctive approach to both yacht and residential design.
